An amazing new friend of mine, Fred Nunez, the founder of the Veterans Alliance of Southern California, has made it possible through a generous benefactor for my whole family to spend a week at The Sweet Retreat Cabin a large two story luxury cabin up north in the mountains outside of Calaveras Big Trees State Park, (think north of Yosemite and east of Sacramento.) Once again, I feel so blessed! Robin and the children are absolutely buzzing with excitement as we used to make regular trips to the mountains for snowboarding and other snow sports every single year. Since my accident in 2006, we have only been able to make one single family trip to the mountains and that was two years ago. Without this gift, I definitely dont think I would be able to afford a place large enough for my whole family to fit into, at least not anytime in the immediate future. If you find yourself tagged in this post, stand by for further info regarding the dates and yall had better plan on being there for all or at least part of our time up there!
