Below someone asked if this could be shared. I think that if we know that the government really wants a teacher strike (most likely to sway public opinion against the teachers as the teachers will easily be portrayed as uncaring of the students - especially those grade 12s) that it would be better to just continue rotating strikes, continue to hold fast regarding class size and composition and not return in September until things have been resolved. Then teachers could say - we stayed in June because we put the students first, we stayed at the table in the summer, we fought for BCs education and the government . . . I was a teacher in BC for ten years, I feel terrible for everyone still there who is having to deal with this. We all know from classroom experience that acting out of anger, which you are absolutely understandably feeling, never works. Dont let this infuriating government goad you into actions that might undermine all that you have accomplished through your restraint in phase 1 and 2. (I realise not everyone will agree with me and I am actually looking forward to hearing other opinions and am willing to change my stance if there is something I have missed in coming to the above conclusion) vancouversun/opinion/columnists/Vaughn+Palmer+Labour+Relations+Board+means+Liberals/9908481/story.html
