Belvidere police detectives and US Marshals along with the Rockford Police Department have been working non stop to locate Michael Spraggins and would like to remind the community that Crime Stoppers will pay a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest of Spraggins. Spraggins, also goes by the street name of “Cockeye” is 5’08” and approximately 220 pounds. In both photos released by the Belvidere Police Department, Spraggins appears to have a lazy eye. In both photographs released by he appears to be looking straight ahead with his left eye. His right eye appears to wander. Michael Spraggins is wanted in connection with the murder of Rachael Ross Golden in Belvidere the morning of Jan. 2. He is considered to be armed, and extremely dangerous. As of 6:15 p.m. on Jan. 3, no description of the vehicle Spraggins was known or suspected to be driving was available. Anyone having contact with Spraggins or knows his whereabouts is asked to contact the Belvidere police Department at (815) 544-2135 or call 911.
