Bendtner likely to stay at Arsenal as wage demands prevent departure Jamie Allen Ronnie Macdonald With the failed pursuit of Luis Suarez and the increasingly unlikely move for Karim Benzema, Arsene Wenger announced that Nicklas Bendtner will stay at the club as despite his best intentions to leave. He said: ‘The chance for him to leave is now very small.’ Bendtner has had various opportunities to leave over the summer but the only stumbling block has been his wage demands, which have been too much for many teams. Malaga, West Brom and even Crystal Palace have shown interest in the player but none have failed to agree any sort of deal. Bendtner was on loan at Juventus last season but it was cut short after he suffered a knee injury that would keep him out for over two months. He won the Scudetto with Juve but the club didn’t want to make the move permanent and he returned to Arsenal, having failed to find the net for the Italian side. It is possible that Bendtner could add some much needed depth to the Arsenal squad, on his day he can be very dangerous to opposition defences but we don’t see these days enough. If he can get himself fit and in shape then he can be an important part of the Gunners squad, don’t get me wrong he won’t be able to start games but he can be useful off of the bench. The worry is that he wanted to leave earlier in the summer so he might not be fully committed to Arsenal, if that is the case then how much canArsene Wenger rely on using him in the Premier League?
