Bendtner offered another escape route! by Ash Arsenal wantaway striker Nicklas Bendtner has been given what seems to be one final chance to leave the Gunners this summer, with enquiries from fellow Premier League London club Crystal Palace and Steve Clarke’s West Brom. Palace have already secured the signing of Marouane Chamakh from Arsenal this summer, and the Moroccan even found the back of the net at the weekend, but the newcomers are still concerned with their options up front following the departure of Wilfried Zaha to Manchester United and so have outlined Bendtner as their next target. Arsenal have had a massive clear out this summer, getting rid of all the deadwood one way or another and at this current moment all that remains is Bendtner and Park. It was understood that Park’s contract would be terminated early to get the striker off the clubs books but nothing has happened, so I can only assume that Wenger is looking to keep him as a last resort option. I’d much prefer to play someone like Akpom but at the end of the day we are already low on numbers and so that’s how it is. In fact at this stage of time and the situation we find our club in, you may even question the reasoning for sanctioning the sales of any more players, Bendtner included. However with Bendtner it’s a completely different situation! He may be a better striker than someone like Chamakh or Park but he has outright stated that he has no intention of playing for Arsenal again so why an earth should we keep paying out for him. There’s no chance Arsenal will release him because on paper he is still valued at a reasonable price of a few million! That’s another thing I don’t understand about the Denmark international, he has been given around ten chances to leave this summer but he has rejected every single one and the clubs that have come close to signing him, he has ruined with his stupid comments. It seems that he cannot be that desperate to leave and he’s quite happy to sit back and collect his high wages each week regardless of what he gives back. After numerous warnings from his national side as well, I reckon Bendtner is no longer interested in playing professional football and he would rather focus on his jewellery company. But all the time he is collecting high money, it’s funding his business and so he won’t leave until he’s forced out!
