Bengali Information and Employment Services (BIES) vowed to fight unemployment and build a dignified and enriched Bengali community in Ontario at its 2nd Annual General Meeting (AGM) and award giving ceremony to its volunteers. The program was held at Accesspoint on Danforth in Toronto on Saturday, August 23, 2014. The AGM was chaired by its President Imam Uddin and facilitated by newly elected director Rizuan Rahman. Among others, the meeting was attended by the Beaches-East York MP, Matthew Kellway, MPP Arthur Potts, Councillor Janet Davis, Barrister Chayanica Dutta, BIES Advisor Abdul Halim Mia, General Secretary- Golam Mostafa, Vice President- Dilruba Khanam, Sadi Khan, Ismat Ara, Manager, WoodGreen Employment Services and newly elected BIES director Qazi Hasan, Editor of Bengali Times and Weekly Banglamail, Shahidul Islam Mintu, PACE President Emamul Haque, well known community member, Minara Begum, Marry Rashedin, BIES ex director Nesar Ahmed and Mostafa Kamal, its members, community leaders and volunteers. The volunteers of BIES were also awarded in the meeting in recognition of their outstanding activities.
