Benghazi- The Latest- Look, you need try to read this, but, know its not an easy read. From thirty hours of military testimony... With sub links to relating detailed information. But try this: There was NO “stand down”, but the detail-? A FOUR man team was ordered to stay in Tripoli to protect personnel there; and in hindsight, the attack in Benghazi was over anyway. ------- No, as I said, try to read this whole article. Its surprisingly thorough. Why no F16 strikes-? (500 lb bombs with NO spotter-? -Sure... -thatll work.) And. again and again and AGAIN: Confusion, hours away from the scene, commanders awakened in the middle of the night, time required to make decisions with too little information and knowing that what ever was happening would be over before anything effective could be on the scene. To any military type it is SO utterly “Yeah, -I can see that.” NO stand down order from the State Department (a ridiculous concept completely at odds with the reality of the military chain of command). But its all there, and it should be no surprise to anyone. The reality: It happened, heres the way it unfolded. And, whether you like it or not, thats about it. (I need to observe that I believe the Obama administration was wrong to walk back the assessment that terrorist action or not, the attack VERY took advantage of the anti American upheaval over that asininely degrading anti Islamic video that was made and released for what could only have been that purpose. The lone wolf terrorist leader that carried it out didnt instantly plan it because of that God awful video, but there can be NO doubt he seized the opportunity it provided.) ------ But, the GOP is pretty selective about what “facts” they call relevant, so Im sure theyll be working fervently to keep this thing alive... -for longer than their party at this rate.
