Benue: Monitoring Groups Uphold PDP Congresses: Benue: Monitoring Groups Uphold PDP Congresses Jeremiah Emmanson — Nov 5, 2014 | Leave a comment The Coalition Of Democracy Advocacy groups have upheld the recent conduct of party primaries held by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in Benue state. The coalition led by the National Democratic Front (NDF), said the congresses were the freest and fairest conduct in the history of the party ever conducted in the party. According the leader of the coalition, Comrade Agbese Philip, they have been in the state prior to the congresses and even monitored them in all local governments to which they found satisfactory. He commended the leader of the party in the state and its exco for creating a level playing ground for all who participated. According to Agbese who monitored the exercise in the Benue North East Senatorial District, the congresses have further shown the true face of the governor who is also contesting in the elections by its transparent conduct. He further cited the example of Prince Solomon Wombo who decided to resign in order to make him eligible for such election as an uncommon occurrence which proved Suswam’s commitment to pure democracy. The coalition has however called on the senator representing Benue North East, Sen. Barnabas Gemade, to imbibe the spirit of sportsmanship and accept the outcome of the primaries as conducted. Condemning the petition written by the former PDP chairman, they asked Gemade to instead of soiling the party’s image, accept the outcome and work hard to win the delegates to his side. Speaking further, the leader of the group wondered why Gemade was complaining as he is famed for malpractices. He also chided the Board of Trustee member to cease from sowing seeds of discord within the party, by making incisive predictions like the unrealistic one he rendered three days to the congresses, describing him as a prophet of doom. « Previous Article Supreme Court Dismisses Appeal Against Sarakis ElectionOriginal link Read More goo.gl/ao4Zmc (y) ✍comment ☏share
