Berlinale - Berlin International Film Festival 14/15 Boyhood by Richard Linklater A cinematic portrait of a boy from the age of 6 to 18. Well, this is old news you might think, but this movie spread its 39 days of shooting over 12 years! So you actually watch the boy (Ellar Coltrane) and his sister (Lorelei Linklater) growing up and his parents (Patricia Arquette and Ethan Hawke) becoming older. Starting with a 6 year old boy seeing him through childhood and teenage years, graduation and finally college this film is brilliant, or to quote the dialogue, awesome. 3 Hours and not a boring second, this movie is about live, as it is, nothing more but nothing less.
