Bernard Dupuis & Richard Powell would like to extend a sincere - TopicsExpress

Bernard Dupuis & Richard Powell would like to extend a sincere thank you to the people of Groveton (and beyond) for their patronage at Dupuis Country Store, over the past 50+ years. Due to circumtances that they simply could not control, the town took over ownership of the building today for non-payment of past and current taxes (that should clear some rumours up!). A legend in its own time and the famous motto being If we aint got it, you dont need it. From amazing hand cut steaks to wicked cold beer and cheap gas, you name it, you could get it at Dupuis. My Grandfather, who didnt make it past 3rd grade, built the business from the ground up. I can remember stories of him making out orders on a scratch pad and it was literally chicken scratch. Having never met him myself, I keep that story and many others close to my heart as I will keep my memories of growing up and then later, working there, close to my heart as well. Anyone who ever walked through the doors were greeted with a smile and most times a joke, thank you Terry Gauthier Clang. Credit was never refused. If anyone was ever in need there was no hesitation at giving with no certain repayment terms. This, and many other factors, were what made my familys business a thriving place. I personally would also like to thank the people who put up a good fight to try and keep this from happening, it is greatly appreciated. Also, a thank you goes out to Randy Potter and Reggie Charron for handling the passing of the torch today with class and understanding. As you may well imagine, the coming days and weeks will be a challenging time for both Richard & Bernard. If you see either of them out and about, please... stop, say hi and share with them your favorite memory, Im sure they would appreciate it.
