Bert Jansch was born 71 years ago on November 3, 1943. Born in Scotland, Jansch took up playing fingerstyle versions of British folk in the 1960s and - along with Davey Graham and John Renbourn--became one of the most influential acoustic guitar players in the UK. His solo work and his years spent with Pentangle eventually exposed him to a worldwide audience. Over the years, his unique style and choice of guitar music has influenced Jimmy Page, Paul Simon, Al Stewart, Ian Anderson, Neil Young, Noel Gallagher, Johnny Marr, and countless others who have appropriated Janschs approach to standards like Blackwaterside and Anji.
