Berthas latest drag report. So, we fitted up our chute (thanks to Grant@Per4manz) and headed back to a Whoop Ass Wed for another shot at a 9 sec pass. Aiming high, I know. We knew we would be kicked out once we did a sub 10.00 so we tested our launches first and backed out at half track to be sure we didnt get kicked out too quickly. I have to admit it was a lot harder for me to get the starts right than I thought it would be. We had too much grip with the prepped track along the Haltech controlled 4WD setup so we slowly wound out 4WD and did smaller burnouts for less traction. Eventually we got it to where we wanted and as the rain approached, we gave a full pass a good try. Our first hard push netted a 9.80 @ 148 MPH. Yeeeehaaaa! We are all so happy. Each of our 3 visits has been faster than the last so thats a good sign and a 9.80 on its 6th proper full pass is pretty good. There is definitely a fair bit left in the car depending on the box and how brave we are to crank boost into it! Some facts about the car: - RB30/26 with a GT42 turbo - custom modified by Grant at Per4manz Turbochargers. Haltech controlled engine and systems. Ross dry sump setup. Nitto crank. Spool rods. Wiseco pistons. Garage101 ported head and Kelford cams and cam technology. - 9.80 was run at 1.6-1.7 BAR boost and about 700-750 HP (by our dyno) ;) - The car is a registered full weight car (no A/C but the weight saved was lost with roll cage, dry sump, 10 ltrs of oil etc). - We have NOS fitted but we dont use it. The bottle has never been in for the drags but will come out for a play soon. - We use street radial tyres but good MT street ET - awesome grip. - H pattern PPG box (on loan - normally STD) - STD rear diff, LSD in front - STD shafts. STD Front suspension, AM arms and alike to get good wheel alignment. - Runs on E85. - Not tested beyond 28 psi so far. We have had lots of help from people to make this happen. A big thankyou to Bruce Hawley@Clockwork Print for the loan of his gearbox (we broke our $500 box at Powercruise). We loaned a tow car from Dazza too because it wouldnt look great driving there with a parachute hanging off the back! So its been a team effort to get this happening. Thanks everyone who has helped and everyone who has shown an interest. Stay Tuned (I love that pun..)
