Besides ‘A Single Life’ there are four other nominees for this year’s Oscars Short Film Animated. One of them is ‘The Bigger Picture’ by Daisy Jacobs and Christopher Hees. The Bigger Picture is about two brothers struggling to care for their elderly mother. She is not going to make it easy for either of them. It is about a situation that one day faces all of us – what shall we do with our parents? British director Daisy Jacobs used a stop-motion animation technique that involves life-size wall-painted characters moving around in full-size sets, interacting with real objects.
