Best 7:48 I have ever heard. Viki Perdue Bozeman, Anissa Andrews, Kelley Theodocion, Melissa Kenney Ivey, Sarah Shannon, Frank Fenn, Linda-Sue Allen, Kelly Brown, Tonyia Lovett Johnson, and all other teachers and principals: this is the best I have ever heard. Yes, I cried. :D Made me think of my mother, who always had extra food and taught kids in the early AM who needed just that extra help in history. Made me think of my daddy, who always stayed late for that kid who needed that special help in reading, but needed encouragement from good old Doc H. Because my father taught kids who struggled because he was good at it - and he knew he could help them (just like his Mama did). Made me think of me, yep me, who kept cleaning products for a girl at LMS when she had no running water so shed smell clean and the work with that precious girl who got in trouble at 17 with a baby who needed GED tutoring - and I gave it to her, free of charge. She got that GED, yall. And the baby has a mama who is a college student. Made me think of all the Hendricks women who went before me - Helen, Commie Jo Hall, Gladys Turner Hendricks, Margaret Hendricks, and the others who I am the last one.... And it made me cry. I think Im sending this to my principal. This....was the best I have ever heard. And I have heard much in 18 years.....Much talk, mucho mucho talk, and I thank Bradford Isbell for sharing it. Yes, your daddy would have loved it, Brad. Pass. Share. Think. Those teachers they mentioned as having believed in you with relationships as the basis of teaching? They are my Facebook friends that I love so much! P.S. You know who you are.
