Best Photographer Award 2014 National Association of Students of Architecture 57th Annual NASA Convention Photography Competition - October 2014 The collaborative initiative of NASA India and Indian Institute of Photography to expose the students to the field of professional photography and also to boost the students with their talents we come up with the Best Photographer Award Competition. The top 10 winning entries shall be put up as the homepage of the NASA INDIA website, also the winning participants shall be given with the certificate of appreciation from IIP and NASA INDIA. This is a monthly competition. The winning entries throughout the year shall be judged and the best entry shall be awarded as the BEST PHOTOGRAPHER AWARD in the Annual NASA Convention. THEME :: ‘Mandala Constructs’ Mandala is a circular, spiritual and ritual symbol in Hinduism and Buddhism; representing the universe, perfection, eternity, unity and completeness. In many improvised forms, this semiotic has been used in endless number of building and architectural designs - be it the contemporary or the modern styles. This month, photographers are invited to observe, appreciate and capture the unique beauty of this style. Best Photographer Award 2014 National Association of Students of Architecture 57th Annual NASA Convention Photography Competition - October 2014 Competition Guidelines :: a) Each participant can submit a maximum of TWO photographs per theme per competition. b) All submissions need to be made in hi-resolution JPEG files with smaller side dimension not less than 1200 pixels and the image size not more than 5MB each. c) Each picture should be captioned with not more than 10 words each and should clearly reflect the given competition theme. d) Contest entries will be judged on composition, technical quality, originality & artistic merit. e) Nothing should be added to an image. Aside from dust spots, nothing should be taken away. f) Normal processing of RAW image files & minor adjustments like color & contrast correction, cropping etc. are acceptable. HDR, panorama & focus stacking are permitted as long as all manipulation is disclosed upon entry. g) Entrants must not infringe on the rights of any other photographer or person or submit images that involve nudity, harassment of any person or religion etc. by the photographer. h) By entering this competition the photographer agrees that he/she is doing so at free will. The copyright of the entries received shall be with the participant and with NASA India. And shall be used only through NASA INDIA for online exhibition, display on any kind of forums, promote this photography competition, publishing in the newsletter or any kind of publications of NASA INDIA if need be. However these copyrights wont allow for the marketing of the photography by NASA INDIA or its associated collaborations. i) The due credits shall be given to the photographer where ever the photograph is being used. j) IIP/NASA does not restrict future sales of image, rather they enhance opportunities to market the photograph as a winner in a very prestigious competition. The photographer is not restricted to market the photographs of the competition, however the copyrights of the photograph shall remain with NASA INDIA for a period of 2 years after the competition. k) Failure to comply with contest guidelines will lead to disqualification.
