Best and worst of 2014. Best: Im going to say Frozen. Yes, it - TopicsExpress

Best and worst of 2014. Best: Im going to say Frozen. Yes, it was released at the very end of 2013 but it was 2014 that saw it become a global obsession with children everywhere. Im choosing it as my best because heres a movie where TWO WOMEN are the lead characters and it is their bond that saves the day (rather than, you know, a man). It earned $1.3billion at the box office worldwide. Its the highest grossing animated film of all time and the 5th highest grossing movie of all time. And I think because of its success well see a ripple effect of Hollywood (and filmmakers everywhere) accepting the truth that female-driven stories can have massive box-office success. (Imagine me rolling my eyes ... I cannot believe this even had to happen for studios to believe that female-led films could be POPULAR. Sheesh.) WORST: Loom bands. I have PTSD from trying to make them with Ava. What were your best and worst? (Obviously, the countless tragedies we saw this year are a worst for all of us but I thought Id keep this light.) x
