Best bits of New York. 1. An hour walk to our hotel, through increasingly worrying neighbourhoods, yet our hotel was great. 2. Free Staten Island ferry (filled half with tourists and half with commuters) - brilliant views of the Statue of Liberty and NY Skyline. 3. Central Station, UN Headquarters, Chrysler, Empire State, Brooklyn Bridge and other assorted landmarks. 4. Ice Skating in Central Park. 5. The Library - including an exhibition on Childrens Literature - featuring the real original Winnie the Pooh, Piglet, Tigger, Eeyore and Kanga. 6. The MOMA - thirty percent genius, seventy percent tat. 7. The ACTUAL robot T-Rex from Jurassic Park inside Toys-R-Us Times Square (and a big Ferris wheel too). 8. The Frick Collection (featuring, for a limited time, Girl with the Pearl Earring and a collection of works by other Dutch Masters) at which I overheard a parent-child conversation that began with Well Ill tell you why its not boring. 9. Tiffany & Co. (which was bizarrely full of British people). 10. Peter and the Starcatcher - a prequel to Peter Pan - Off-Broadway. 11. The Macys Thanksgiving Day Parade - getting a great spot despite turning up an hour in! 12. Chat up line to Carla (whilst walking down the street holding my hand) Girl, you fine. I will take you from him. 13. Finding Goo-Goos in a supermarket.
