Best do an update since some of you guys think I am cruising. My new chemo dropped my white blood cells to zero. I caught a bug. In Emergency 8am on my birthday, shaking, 39.90 degrees temp and my blood pressure crashing to 65. I slipped into unconsciousness and was working on my seat near the fire. Had my own doctor (Sam) and own nurse (Ben) all day and specialist (Adeel) spent three hours with me. Sepsis. Ended with a monitor in my artery, PICC line in my left arm and my blood pressure kept up near 100 with Noradrenalin. Sunday, into intensive care in isolation with own nurse (Melinda to start). No resistance see...doors shut, no-one except doctors and Melinda and Tegan & Brad in. Nailed to the bed, left arm pinned with a board (arteries dont line steel probes in them moving) chest with 6 receptors up to monitor, PICC line with whole blood pumping in one line (three lots, thanks someone), running fluids and Noradrenalin. Right arm with permanent pressure cuff reading automatically each 45 minutes as check...Melinda then Vicki then Phillip the Mark Wahlberg checking temp almost constantly...it was cycling up and down...blood pressure would drop...I would grey out. Two fun days :) Next three in a ward were nice Calvary Mater Hospital in Newcastle, I owe you big time!!! Unintended consequence, I have lost all my hair in those few days!!
