Best wishes to CoJMC broadcast grad Rachel Beth Anderson whose documentary First to Fall makes its United Kingdom premier at the Human Rights Watch Film Festival tonight in London. Recently, Rachel had these kind words for her experiences as a student in our college. Attending the UNL J-school was one of the most important stepping stones in the early days of my documentary film career. My professors helping me achieve my desire to work internationally in foreign correspondence and focus on long format news. The colleges potential pushing atmosphere was the support I needed to follow my dreams, apply myself and take risk. Since graduating I have lived and filmed around the world in several conflict zones including Libya, Syria, Afghanistan, Egypt, Turkey, South Sudan, and Nepal for CNN “Hero’s”, PBS Frontline, Human Rights Watch, and my first directorial debut feature documentary First To Fall. I also won the 2014 Sundance Excellence in Cinematography award for my work in the indie doc E-TEAM. Were proud of Rachels accomplishments. In our college you can Start here. Go Anywhere. ishtaproductions/first-to-fall-the-movie/
