I presume most of us are undergraduate/ postgraduate students. The above quoted text is something that we have all been hearing from our parents, relatives and elders, and I sure am not the first person to report it. They said 10th is Important and so should you focus on it keeping everything else aside. They extended it to 12th, Pre-University Competitions, University Examinations, GATE/ GRE/CAT/GMAT and shall keep doing so till the program implants itself in your brain so as to replicate to subsequent generations. When you were in 10th Standard, you probably wanted to do something but your peers and elders were more concerned about your performance in boards. Today, you probably have an idea that has the potential to explode, but the advises from your guardian(s), that you too feel are right do not allow you to pursue it! After all, ideas come and go and can be executed later , but your CG stays with you forever! Right? WRONG! Introspect, How many plans and accomplishments you wanted to make 4-5 years back have you been able to convert so far? Look at people who are advising you to procrastinate. Did they really do anything about THEIR passion after making a stable career for themselves? If you have a dream, passion or an idea, there isnt a time as perfect as TODAY to pursue it. Remember and verify through all your experiences in Retrospect, that The Pressure and Stress on you will be a lot more tomorrow than what it is today! The Zeal that is the most important constituent will certainly be reduce as the idea rusts within the cinfines of your neurons. No, I am not asking you to take your career and academics lightly. They are indeed important, but a balance is mandatory! A 7 pointer who has spent time executing his ideas along with superior set of skills is far better in almost every aspect than a 9 pointer with nothing significant other than his CGPA. Do what interests you, and remember, if you want to do it, you have to do it NOW! Nothing imparts more pleasure than spending time doing what you love to do. No, not even its outcome!
