Bettsville School eyes combining with Old Fort Bettsville School District took the first step Thursday evening to becoming Old Fort School District’s Bettsville campus. In a community forum at Bettsville School, a consensus vote of the more than 200 people packing the gymnasium showed their support for the move. “This was not taken lightly. (Bettsville School) has been in the community for generations,” Bettsville Board of Education President Michelle Davis told the crowd. A continually soaring deficit brought the district to the brink.
