Between 1492 & 1521, Christopher Columbus & Hernan Cortez arrived in what is now known as the Americas. And for most of us {Heinz 57s,} that have NATIVE roots, in what is coined today, Latin America, find it not only difficult but almost impossible to cross the bearing strait, and extract the origin of our native customs and traditions. The Chicano/s, from what I have experienced has had some success in identifying the {mestizos/half breed} that exist within his being, however he too, falls short of Montezumas revenge. Perhaps Catholicism and 500 years of Spanish colonization, has hand cuffed the spirituality of the native American, that quietly resides within the Latino to the cross; thus, he is unable to reach his Pre-Hispanic origins.
