Between now and next summer, Georgia Medicaid will be moving (aka transitioning, if you prefer corporatespeak) to paperless processes for almost all its transactions. As of September 1, institutional providers were, shall we say, encouraged to enroll electronically. But starting November 1 various processes will become online-only, period. • November 1, 2014: Online-only claims filing goes into effect for certain groups (including dental, Medicare Advantage Plans, EOBs, etc., who will be notified directly). • December 1, 2014: Online-only claims filing for institutional and individual providers goes into effect. • January 1, 2015: Online-only enrollment for individual providers goes into effect. Eventually provider enrollment, claims filing, appeals, and disbursement of payments to providers will all be entirely electronic. So what should you do? • If you havent set up electronic fund transactions or direct deposit with your financial institution, now is a good time to do that. • If you havent already enrolled in GAMMIS (the Georgia Medicaid Management Information System; 1.usa.gov/1DjLSED), do that: Click on Provider Enrollment near the top and the Enrollment Wizard should walk you through the process. • If you have already enrolled with GAMMIS, look for a letter from HP instructing you when to revalidate your enrollment information. • Relax, knowing that the government transition to a new computer-only system will likely occur without a hitch. Georgia Medicaid will be sending and posting more information throughout the transition, and AIP and GPhA will keep you updated. If you have questions, you can contact HP at (800) 766-4456 or go through GAMMIS itself.
