Beverley Festival Café Run Beverley Folk Festival On Saturday 17th May between 10.30am and 2.30pm, a selection of local artists appearing at this year’s Beverley Folk Festival, will once again be hitting Beverley town centre cafés giving audiences a taster of what to expect at this year’s festival in June. A variety of artists will be taking part in this annual promo event including: Nikki Airey, the Nick Rooke Band, Ben Cook and Sarah Shiels. Artists will visit Café Nero, Rolando’s, Costa Coffee, Lempicka, Ask, Vanilla’s and The Poppy Seed throughout the day. The festival can also be found in Beverley’s Saturday Market on the same day from 10.00am at the market’s charity stall where full information about this year’s landmark event will be available and organisers and volunteers will be on hand to answer questions. Rachel Bullen, Festival Marketing Manager said ‘Our annual promotion day is always a lot of fun and anyone visiting the cafés in Beverley on Sat 17th May is in for a musical treat. We are proud to offer something to suit all tastes and ages with music ranging from traditional and modern Folk, Americana, World and Blues right through to Classic Rock & Pop. This year’s fantastic line up of over 80 acts includes: Billy Bragg, Chas & Dave, Home Service, Barbara Dickson & Rab Noakes, Thea Gilmore and Lau as well as Sean Hughes, John Hegley and Andy Kershaw. A particular festival highlight will be Michael Morpurgo reading from War Horse accompanied by songs from the stage show performed by John Tams and Barry Coope. We also have Traditional Dance teams, Films, Spoken Word events, Workshops for all ages, a fantastic Craft, Food & Music Fair, Real Ale bars and a packed programme of free events for Children. The Festival Village is free to enter and we welcome visitors to come and browse around the stalls and take in the festival atmosphere.
