Beware: Long post!!! As most are aware of, I dont have any formal training in cake decorating neither did I go to culinary school. My skill (though still a work in progress ) is a product of tons of eggs, flour, butter and sugar wasted as I practice and try to make my cakes suit my preference. Some say its talent. Honestly, Im not talented. I just have this passion and enthusiasm to learn. So, I say its a mixture of hardwork, passion, and proper attitude. Somebody once told me that my cakes are too pricey compared to a chef who also makes cake, considering I dont have formal qualification like him. Well upon verifying myself, I proved the opposite. My cakes are cheaper. So what did I learn from this experience? I learned that NO ONE CAN MAKE YOU FEEL INFERIOR WITHOUT YOUR CONSENT (as Eleonor Roosevelt said). Thanks to this experience, to those, I would say, encouraging words that challanged me to enhance my craft. Now everytime some people ask if I went to culinary or attended cake decorating workshop, I proudly say.. No, just self taught. These are some cakes I made for friends..
