Beware of Fungus infested Fruit Cake!!!!!!!! The Consumer Council has once again received a complaint regarding fruit cake – this time with fungus. in the case at hand, a consumer purchased a 500g lemon fruit cake from a prominent supermarket in Fiji and upon opening found the cake covered in fungus. The fruit cake was due to expire on 31st January 2015. The Council is once again urging consumers to check for manufacturing dates and note the expiry date properly. If you feel the expiry date has been tampered with, then avoid buying the particular item.
