Beware of Veneration... Veneration: Idolizing men. Jesus says, But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren. And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven...That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father... (Read Matt 23:1-12. Jn 5:19-27 KJV) * True men of God avoids veneration because its idolatry; And as Peter was coming in, Cornelius met him, and fell down at his feet, and worshipped (venerated, adored, reverenced) him. But Peter took him up, saying, Stand up; I myself also am a man. (Acts 10:25-26 KJV) (Read Matt 19:16-17; 5:41; 6:15. Acts 3:11-12; 14:8-18. Jas 5:16-17. Rev 19:10) Veneration (Latin veneratio or dulia, Greek δουλεία, douleia), or veneration of saints, is the act of honoring a saint, a person who has been identified as having a high degree of sanctity or holiness. Angels are shown similar veneration in many religions. Philologically, to venerate derives from the Latin verb, venerare, meaning to regard with reverence and respect. Veneration of saints is practiced, formally or informally, by adherents of some branches of all major religions, including Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism, Islam, and Buddhism. Within Christianity, veneration is practiced by groups of the so-called Churches, all of which have varying types of canonization or glorification procedures. In some Christian denominations, veneration is shown outwardly by respectfully bowing or making the sign of the cross before a saints icon, relics, or statue, or by going on pilgrimage to sites associated with saints. The practice of veneration is heretic and idolatry. * Friends, JESUS established His kingdom, not a religion, for us His followers. And we honor Him alone. Theres one class in His kingdom which is the class of Brethren (brothers and sisters), theres no classes/ranks of lords in Christ Jesus. And he(Jesus) said unto them(His disciples), The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and they that exercise authority upon them are called benefactors. But ye shall not be so: but he that is greatest among you, let him be as the younger; and he that is chief, as he that doth serve. For whether is greater, he that sitteth at meat, or he that serveth? is not he that sitteth at meat? but I am among you as he that serveth. Ye are they which have continued with me in my temptations. And I appoint unto you a kingdom, as my Father hath appointed unto me; That ye may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel. (Luke 22:25-30 KJV) > No man is Lord, except Jesus Christ, over us when we gather as a group of His followers; among the true church of Christ Jesus theres no spiritual father/mother (daddy or mummy), no supreme leader, no your/his lordship/holiness, most reverend or whatever title people attach to exalt men. We have equal rights and equal respect as brothers and sisters in The Lord Jesus. Many Christians today are victims of veneration; they worship men and women of God, dead or alive, in the name of reverence, honor and respect. Imagine eating and drinking at one table, and sitting on thrones and judging with Jesus Christ in His kingdom! In our earthly families we had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we give them reverence: In the spiritual family we all are in subjection to the Father(God) of spirits, and live. (Heb 12:9) God alone is our spiritual Father and Christ alone is our Master! But be responsive to your pastoral leaders. Listen to their counsel. They are alert to the condition of your lives and work under the strict supervision of God. Contribute to the joy of their leadership, not in drudgery. Why would you want to make things harder for them? (Heb 13:17 MSG) > Your pastoral leaders have the authority of Gods Word to build you up, and not to lord it over you (Read Acts 20:28-35. 2Cor 10:8; 13:10). For there is no difference between you and your pastoral leaders in Christ Jesus: for the same Lord over all is rich to all that call upon him. (Jn 17:16f. Rom10:12) + Finally Brethren, beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy of veneration and vain deceit; which is following the tradition of men, following the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. For in Him dwells all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. And you are complete in Him, which is the head of all principality and power. Let no man beguile you (as the serpent beguiled Eve) of your reward in a voluntary/false humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he has not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind. (Read Col 2:6f) + May The Lord God Almighty deliver His people from veneration in Jesus Name! Amen! Honor the Son alone!
