Beware of an email scam that looks like a letter from Con Ed. They are entitled Con Ed Advisory Community. The email has a link with a phone number. The email reads that they are soliciting for community members to become part of an advisory board to Con Ed and in return for their participation the person would receive Amazon gift cards. Since it appears to be a Con Ed email, we wanted to alert you to this to make sure you do not respond and provide personal information that would compromise your security. We have also seen similar scams from emails that appear to be coming from the Postal Office or UPS and ask you to open a link about a package they are trying to deliver. Whenever you see these emails, simply delete them. If you think they might be real, go directly to the companys website, such as UPS or the Postal Service and see if there is a message for you.
