Bewl Fishery Report 4th September 2014 Water temperature 17degC - Water level 78% Bewl is now fishing exceptionally well from boats. A number of anglers have reported catching 15-20 trout on catch and release tickets. The bank fishing is also improving slowly. Regular bank angler, Alex Brown caught 8 trout from the Chingley corner of the Dam this week. The fish are high in the water and spread out across the Main Bowl, Hook Straight and the North end of Bewl Straight. Catch average for the week based on returns is an excellent 5.02 fsh per rod. A further 1091 blue trout weighing an average of 2lb were stocked this week. Best areas for boats are Canoe Club Corner, The Main Bowl, Hook Straight, Hatheralls and Goose Creek. Best areas for bank fishing are Chingley, Canoe Club Corner and Seven Pound Creek. Successful flies have included Cormorants, Boobies, Hoppers, Silver Invictas and Diawl Bachs.
