Beyonce Overtakes Oprah in Forbes Celebrity 100 The prestigious US business magazine Forbes has officially released their annual rankings of the most powerful celebrities this 2014. Now, the question everybodys been curious about is who have earned the crowning glory of being the richest showbiz icon? Indeed, love is on top as the American singer and actress Beyonce Knowles sat on the throne on Forbes Celebrity 100. She has taken the prestige from last years queen, the American talk show icon Oprah Winfrey. With an estimated 115 million USD of earnings, Beyonce has literally ran the world. She gained this from selling her fifth self-titled studio album Beyonce in 2013 that hit the top spots on official music charts in various countries and even gained recognition as it sold one million digital copies in just six days after its launch. Sher is also currently doing her recent concert tour On The Run Tour with her beloved husband and rap icon Jay-Z, which was reported to have sold more than 800,000 tickets and earning more than 5 million USD of profits. Also, various endorsements from leading products like Pepsi and H&M, and her own line of clothing and perfumes. On the other hand, Oprah went down the list, gaining the 4th spot with 82 million USD worth of earnings. She recently played an iconic role in the historical drama Lee Daniels The Butler where she gained numerous nominations and being a constant guest on the red carpet. However, most of her earnings still come from the syndication of the long-running talk show entitled Oprah, her O Magazine sales, and her radio show. Last year, Oprah was hailed as the most powerful celebrity with whooping 77 million USD after her own network, the Oprah Winfrey Network stood back from a downfall. Beyonce has only been on the fourth spot with an estimated 53 million USD of total earnings. However, a huge turnover of the rankings was established this year as Beyonce overtakes Oprah in the list. Other celebrities that were included in the top ten were NBA superstar LeBron James, Beats creator Dr. Dre, TV host Ellen DeGeneres, boxing superstar Floyd Meyweather, Beyonces husband Jay-Z, singers Rihanna and Katy Perry, and Iron Man star Robert Downey Jr. The Celebrity 100 is an annual list by Forbes magazine that measures the wealth of a celebrity based on his or her earnings within a year. The list also measures the popularity of stars based on how many times they are mentioned in print, TV, and in the internet. Many names have been included yearly, and this year was Beyonces most powerful time in her career. Not only Beyonce was delighted by this jaw-dropping news, but also her fans that put her atop everyone else. Indeed, being the most powerful celebrity is a great addition to the legacy of the 32-year old total packaged performer. Although Beyonce overtakes Oprah, her fans should never be saddened, because even though she dropped a few places from the top, the host has made The Celebrity 100 list sixteen times and still recognized as among the most powerful women in Hollywood.
