Beyond Monochromes THE PRINT is a Black and White Fine-Art Digital Printing workshop aimed in translating your digital files into works of art, worthy of your signature and placing it to its rightful place - your home or a collectors wall. You’ll see and evaluate different types of original Fine-Art photographs, paper, inks and archival materials for presentation and storage. You will learn recommended workflows and the latest advancement in Black and White printing technology with specific focus on Epson printers and Photoshop. Learn about the business practices of contemporary galleries and the meaning behind many jargons. You will become proficient on what makes a good Fine-Art photograph. On May 17, 2014, youll leave with a print of your own image and the knowledge you need in creating a tangible representation of your vision. Workshop Overview: - The Photographic Print - History of Printmaking - Contemporary Gallery Practices - Fine-Art Workflow - A Color Managed Workflow - Resolution and Re-sampling - Noise reduction, Sharpening, RIPs and other 3rd party software - Substrates and Inks - Print Handling and Storage - Printer settings - Hands-on printing Pre-requisites: - Participant must have working knowledge in Photoshop - Fine Art Photography experience is an advantage but not required - Your own favorite black and white image (optional) Facilitators: ReD Ognita (ognita) Michael de Guzman (mdeguzman) Limited slots only.
