Bhakta Vinodh 1. The math is clear. Beef is the single biggest contributor to GHGs in the American diet; it is responsible for almost three times the emissions for dairy. Therefore, simply by avoiding beef, one is doing a lot of good to the environment! treehugger/.../scientists-identify-most... 2. Furthermore, selective breeding and DIET changes can significantly reduce methane emissions in cows, especially in farms such as Gita Nagari which are not CAFOs. Cows naturally eat grass and hay, not corn and soybeans! Perhaps veterinarians can research a suitable diet and scientists can provide a quantification of the difference in methane emissions from grazing cows and feedlot cows. This would help us find a way to make slaughter-free cow farms produce less emissions. phys.org/news/2013-05-diet-methane-cows.html 3. Slaughter-free is not just until the cows can produce milk. Cows produce dung even AFTER their milking life. Cow dung can be used to generate bio-gas and electricity! This is already being practiced in Vermont, USA, and this has the potential to reduce our dependence on coal and FRACKING. greenmountainpower/innovative/cow/
