Bharti Airtel Limited (“Airtel’), a leading global telecommunications service provider with operations in 20 countries across Asia and Africa, Monday announced a series of initiatives aimed at enhancing customer convenience in the flood affected Kashmir valley. According to the official handout issued, for one week starting October 14, 2014, Airtel will offer all its prepaid customers free ‘Airtel to Airtel’ calls within the valley between 11pm and 6 am, allowing them to stay connected with their loved ones. As a special gesture, Airtel also announced that customers who had recharged their phones just before the floods but could not utilize the benefits of the data packs will now be offered 200MB of free data with a 7 day validity. Airtel’s network teams and partners have worked tirelessly in difficult conditions to fully restore its mobile network in record time and ensuring that all its 1.72 million customers in the valley stay connected. Airtel has also launched a dedicated 24x7 network hotline - 12134 for faster resolution network related complaints.
