Bhopal: Cabinet nod to housing plan for poor under PPP mode The state cabinet on Tuesday endorsed a scheme under public-private partnership for the construction of affordable houses for people belonging to economically weaker sections. A hike of 7% dearness allowance for state government employees, amendment in renewable energy policy, and pension as per sixth pay scale to the employees of six universities were among other important decisions taken by the cabinet chaired by chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, government spokesperson Narottam Mishra told media persons. The cabinet approved the guidelines issued for the affordable housing scheme for EWS families under PPP mode. Town Development Authority would identify the land, get it through proper process and then prepare proposal on the basis of technical and economic viability of the project, Mishra said. The cabinet committee constituted under Atal Ashray Yojana would be empowered to remove difficulties in the projects implementation, he added. The cabinet also decided to create Rs. 100 crore venture capital fund to help innovation based new entrepreneurs. This fund, created as per rules of SEBI, would fund medium, small and micro entrepreneurs to set up their units. In other decisions, the cabinet approved 7% hike in dearness allowance to all state government employees. Amendment in renewable energy department policy was also approved. Now the rate of use of land by the project would be equal to 50% of collectors current rate and the developer could deposit land use fee in five equal instalments. The cabinet also sanctioned payment of pension as per sixth pay scale to teaching and non-teaching staff of six universities from April 1, 2014. Meanwhile, director of meteorological department Abhinav Kashyapi was called to inform the chief minister about Hudhuds impact on Madhya Pradesh. He told the CM that only about 9 to 11 district of eastern MP would be facing a mild effect of strong winds and rain. One of the curious ministers asked the Met director about the nomenclature of the cyclone. Kashyapi informed them that the name Hudhud was given by Oman after a bird by the same name.
