Bible Meditation For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ. Gal 1:10 (KJV) Devotional Thought Paul was saying that he spoke to please God whom he served. There are too many today that seek more the favor of men and are afraid if they hold to the truth of the Gospel they will upset someone. That is too hard a load to bear when you try to please both God and man, when you are really a servant to God. This is concerning the preaching of the Gospel, a man will please man or else please God, he will very seldom do both. It is man’s inclination to protect himself from the onslaught of those that would oppose him, if he preaches the Word, he will be attacked, if he pleases men in his preaching he will be attacked by those who have a differing point of view. Paul said if I seek to please men I cease to be the servant of God. Action Point This doesn’t only apply to preachers, it applies to every child of God. Who are you seeking to please, self, others, family members, or do you seek to please God with all your heart? We ought to please God!
