Moses and God were friends!! Have you ever thought of your relationship with God in terms of a friend? What were the elements of this friendship between God and Moses? The first element clearly was determination. Both God and Moses had very busy schedules, yet they determined to spend time together (33:7-11). God watched over his servant Moses , for Moses had been given the overwhelming task of leading an entire nation from one country to another!! In turn, Moses knew that he could not possibly handle the task of leading Gods people without constant guidance from the Lord. Second Moses did not exclude others from his friendship with God. It was Moses custom to set up the tent known as the tent of meetings far outside the camp. Everyone who wanted to consult with the Lord would go there (33:7) Moses wanted others to know Gods friendship too. Third. The phrase face to face gives us the sense of openness, honesty and delight. Moses was not afraid to ask God anything.please if this is really so, show me your intentions. Moses said after talking to God about an assistant to help him (33:13). Moses spoke honestly , showed his true needs, and expected God to answer. We can learn much about building our human friendships from the friendship between God and Moses. We must delight in the open, honest and sharing of our deepest selves. Myra, this story in the Bible reminds of you and I know we all want to thank you deeply for starting a Womens Bible study so we can learn and encourage each other in our faith and walk with our Lord Jesus Christ!!!
