Bible Verse of the Day: “Blessed is the one who considers the poor! In the day of trouble the Lord delivers him. The Lord protects him and keeps him alive; he is called blessed in the land; you do not give him up to the will of his enemies.” Psalms 41:1 - 2 ESV Pastor Powell’s Reflection: What do you consider important? Your time? Your bank account? Your children? Your family? Your house? Your 2005 Ford Mustang Convertible? Oops, a little personal on the last one :) How about this…do you consider the poor? Not only the poor economically because the Rabbi from Nazareth teaches us in St. Matthew 26:11 the real Truth that He came to save the poor soul from the adversary. So when you focus on your selfishness you are away from Adonai’s call to your soul to focus on the interior soul and not the outer shell. The Rabbi calls us to live righteously in St. Matthew 6:33. Here is the kicker when we love with our soul…we are no longer afraid of the illusions of this age…we can boldly proclaim the love of God, the saving grace of the King, Yeshua/Jesus whose age this is! “Love is all you need” in your soul to love our Abba/Father in Heaven and our neighbor by sharing faith with them and sometimes even using words but first and foremost using the actions of our daily lives…the joy of God within us, the cleverness of God’s words in secular interaction, the empathy of others.
