Bicycle Leg 2, Reno to Courtenay, BC Day 9 - 115 mi. (707 tot.) That wasnt no coast down the mountain, either. At least 6,500 ft. of passes and hills. And along with all that mileage comes.... *drumroll* Chafing! Really ought to have used my anti-chafe cream this morning, but in camp for the night i remembered a single serving packet of Gold Bond. i looked over the back suspiciously. Carefully. This was going between my legs, right up in there. Inacive ingredients were mostly Talc, perfect. Active ingredients, 1% menthol. Hmm. Hmmmmmmmm... ive had some good menthol experiences. Hmmm. Ok. Ahhh.... thats soothinfuuuuck FuuuuCKKKK. Worst idea. Now it burns even when i sit still. Even now, an hour later, a bit uncomfortably warm. At least we can laugh about it. Also, i have a feeling i have done almost this exact same thing to myself before. Theres definitely someone shooting a gun A LOT somewhere in the distance. Luckily i tend to stay low when i sleep. Oh, hah.. When i was leaving the doctors place this morning, he was texting me his address and mispelled mailing as maoling, and his wife was laughing, making some reference about Mao Tse-tung. He interrupted her, saying that i probably didnt even know who that was. lolllllll **bruh** After my snort, i shot back, you know who Chiang Kai-shek is? He did, but i couldnt resist saying something to his wife about how that had been a shock to hear, being a former jeopardy champion, though i didnt look at him the whole time and then walked off to grab something. She swallowed. Tomorrow just a little climb to start the day... (Well, 1,750 across two passes. How quckly our standards change.) Then 37 miles of gentle downhill to the Columbia River Gorge! Soooo beautiful. Theres a state park, and i plan to get there around noon and spend the equinox. id been yearning for a vial and a week in the woods a while back, and within a couple days someone had randomly given me a chocolate. (Abundance.) Now is the time. Merry equinox, space travelers!
