Biden was to deliver a gunboat ultimatum to China. The PLA beat him to the punch. First by a first strike nuclear policy (we will be both dead) and secondly by a defense zone policy. And the reason the US backed down was that China knew exactly where the intruding planes were coming from and what they carried. And China announced that information in their newspapers before the US knew about it. Although Chinese planes are not equal match for US and Japanese combined, but the Chinese missiles are. That is the real prize. The US threatens to knock out the missile sites. China just put a stop to that by the nuclear first strike policy. The old game is over. China breaks through the First Island Chain and their nuclear submarine fleet can demolish the West Coast of the US and mobile ICBMs will knock out the US East Coast, which only leaves the Midwest intact. Estimated 60 million Americans dead and 800 million Chinese dead if push comes to shove. You figure out what the world will be like after that.
