Big Beaver Road Construction to Start on Monday, August 4 Eastbound Big Beaver Road Construction will start on Monday, August 4, 2014. One lane of traffic will be maintained between Rochester and Dequindre for the duration of the work. Construction is anticipated to last for up to four weeks. All eastbound lanes are anticipated to be open by August 31, 2014. Roadwork on Big Beaver westbound lanes will follow. Construction on the westbound lanes is anticipated to start after Labor Day and last for up to four weeks. All westbound lanes are anticipated to be open by September 30, 2014. Access to homes, offices and businesses will be maintained throughout the duration of construction, though there may be periods when heavy equipment or barricades may impede access. Significant delays should be expected. Suggested alternate routes are Maple and Wattles Roads. Traffic signal timings will be adjusted when possible to assist in moving traffic on Big Beaver. The work on Big Beaver Road is part of a $10.5 million comprehensive concrete replacement program on County Roads to address heavy pothole damage and generally poor conditions. The City of Troy in partnership with the Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC) has undertaken this work to improve the road conditions in Troy.
