Big Bullets have hinted that they are on the verge of securing sponsorship in the range of K150 million for the Caf Champions League campaign. News of Bullets having secured the sponsorship from an undisclosed benefactor were rife over the weekend. And when asked about the rumours of the sponsorship, Bullets general secretary Harold Fote said that they were still discussing with the would be sponsor. “It’s premature to disclose the name of the sponsors when we are still discussing this issue,” Fote said. “On whether it is indeed K150 million, I can say yes it’s around that figure because that is our budget for the Champions League campaign.” Bullets were drawn against Comoros Islands side Fomboni Club de Moheil in 2015 Caf Champions League preliminary round. The People’s Team start away to Comoros in the first leg to be played between13th and 15th of February, with the second leg set for the weekend of February 27 at Kamuzu Stadium. Meanwhile, Bullets are expected to conclude registration of players tomorrow at a fee of US $300 for a complete squad of 23 players. However, registration for individual players will be open from January 1 to 15th at a fee of US $200 per player. From January 15 to 31st registration for individual players will be at US$500 each. Fote said they would try to register all the players before the closing date. “We cannot afford to be paying US$200 or US $500 for each player,” Fote said. “That’s why we want to take advantage of the normal registration for all players. Bullets have targeted several players for the Caf Champions League but so far none of transfers has materialised yet. However, Fote was confident that they would conclude the deals before the deadline. #BNSLM2014 Fraser
