Big Hero 6 (2014) Boasting colorful animation, fun, dynamic action sequences, and compelling, sympathetic characters, Big Hero 6 is one of the best animation films in years. Sure, it is not perfect. I wish it had been a little bit longer so the action beats could breathe, and given that this is both a Marvel and a Disney movie on top of being a Marvel Origin story, it is not as complex as it could have been. That being said, Big Hero 6 is a whole lot of fun. The movie has heart and humor with breakout character Baymax (which Disney will make millions on plushies alone). I’m a little tired overall with franchises and sequels but seriously give us more of Big Hero 6. A film that not only has action, humor, and heart, it also values teamwork, intelligence, and good morals, making it one of the most sound family films in quite some time.
