Big Hero 6 Movie Review I saw this movie with my brother and about 7 others at the Currambine Grand Cinemas. At the beginning before the movie started there was a short film called Feast about a dog who was fed by his owner and eventually when he started dating he started having healthy foods and the dog didn’t like the new diet. After awhile though the dog’s owner breaks up with the girlfriend and becomes miserable. The dog decides to bring them back together and they get married and have a child and the dog is happy to eat whatever they feed him. The hero of the movie is Hiro (voiced by Ryan Potter) and Hiro’s big brother Tadashi’s (voiced by Daniel Henney) invention Baymax (voiced by Scott Adsit). Hiro is a 14 year old genius who has graduated high school and wants to go to his big brother’s college. There he meets some new friends such as: Fred (voiced by T.J. Miller), Go Go (voiced by Jamie Chung), Wasabi (voiced by Damon Wayan Jr.) and Honey Lemon (voiced by Genesis Rodriguez). There is an expo held at the college and Hiro presents his invention of micro-bots that can be controlled by a neural transmitter. After he wows everyone with his potentially revolutionary idea, including the professor Robert Callaghan (voiced by James Cromwell), he warns Hiro not to trust Alistair Krei (voiced by Alan Tyduk) who also did the voice of King Candy in Wreck-It Ralph and one of the voices in Frozen. These other films also made by the same makers as Big Hero 6. Hiro decides not to sell his invention to Alistair Krei and after the expo there is a mysterious fire that starts at the college and everyone gets evacuated except Robert Callaghan who is still in there and Tadashi goes in to rescue him but while in there the building explodes. A funeral is held for Tadashi and professor Callaghan. Then Baymax gets activated and one of Hiro’s remaining micro-bots starts to move around as if to tell him something. Baymax takes it with himself and it leads to a warehouse where Hiro and Baymax discover a lot more micro-bots and the bad guy who is wearing a Kabuki mask and is controlling the micro-bots. Eventually Hiro upgrades Baymax with armour and teaches him karate and also his friends become super heros too. Now they have to work together to defeat the bad guy and find out who he is. There are some sad bits towards the end but then there is also a happy ending. There are some good songs during the film including Survivor – Eye of the Tiger. There are great sounds and awesome visual effects too. Overall I give the film 4 out of 5 stars. True Christians: Parental guidance recommended for children under 13. There is some animated violence and scenes that may scare small children.
