Big News from the District 54 Toastmasters Spring Conference!! WIU-QC Toastmasters President, Steve Vandewalle won the competition for the International Speech Contest. You may not realize what a big deal this is. Let me tell you. Initially about 30,000 Toastmasters compete in the International Speech Contest at their club level. Then they must be victorious at the Area and Division contests in order to compete in their District Contests. Steve did all this and then competed with 5 other great speakers at District 54 Spring Conference this past Saturday and came out victorious. This means he will be one of about 80 competitors who will travel to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia this August and compete to become the World Champion of Public Speaking.
