Check them out here: emmysorganics/ We are happy to announce the Northeast Region’s most recent Local Producer Loan recipient, Emmy’s Organics! Located in Ithaca, NY, Emmy’s Organics produces delicious gluten-free, vegan macaroons and cereals made with raw ingredients. They can currently be found in the MA, NA, NorCal, SW and NE regions. Emmy’s Organics started when Samantha and Ian met in 2008 at a music festival in Ithaca, NY where both lived. Samantha had just graduated from Ithaca College, where in her last year she had started experimenting with raw foods and developed a genuine passion for health and wellness. She knew she had found something that she wanted to pursue. Ian had recently moved back to his home town of Ithaca and was working as a raw vegan chef and kitchen manager at various locations in New York City, NY. From his own experiences with food allergies, he developed a love for health and wellness. So when they finally met, it was perfect. Ian and Samantha found so much fun and joy (and of course, a little love) learning and experimenting with food. They started making everything in his mother, Emmy’s, kitchen. Beginning with four flavors of macaroons, Ian and Samantha applied to vend at Ithaca’s farmer’s market and started to pursue stores in New York City by taking a trip and pitching their stuff to store buyers. Slowly, but surely, they continued to get more orders. Emmys has moved four times in five years to keep up with the demand! This is truly an exciting time for an exciting, young company.
