Big cover up was recently made buy the secret parrot rescue group, Soft Landings. The rescue group is a secret group with invitation only. Why is secret? Because they need to cover up their dirty work! Here is the story of the cockatoo named by many names: Bobby Tickle/ Tommy/Cassi. This is from the email was forwarder to me about his sad story: Bobby Tickle was one of a number of birds ceased from a rescue run by a lady named June Edwards. She had in the region of 60 birds and had clearly let things slide very dramatically. Inches of filth, very very sick birds never given veterinary care or treatment, basically squalor and suffering all round. Some of the ceased birds were subsequently euthanised as their conditions were beyond treatment by the time they were taken. Bobby was a long standing self mutilator and was one of the birds ceased and was taken in by another rescue (greysroost) a friend of June Edwards who subsequently joined forces with a lady named Kris Woods and formed the now Soft Landings Rescue. A lady named Tasha began to post asking advice on Soft Landings secret FB group, asking for advice on a U2 named Cassie ......a bird she had brought from a pet shop as they were going to have him euthanised and was told to try using vaseline on the wound !!! Several people long standing within the rescue community tried in vain to persuade Tasha to seek expert help for Cassie and to ask her to stop putting her in knitted jumpers, taking her outside in the spring cold weather, not to use vaseline on her (for obvious reasons). These people were shouted down by Soft Landings and their supporters. Cassie began to look extremely ill within 6 weeks of Tasha having her and passed away within 3 months. Fast forward to May (ish) of this year and a lady who had formerly safe housed Bobby Tickle many years ago recognised Cassie as actually being Bobby Tickle and was as you can imagine devastated. She along with others who had had contact with Bobby then put two and two together and realised that it may well have been Soft Landings who had placed Bobby T with Tasha having changed her name (many people were desperately trying to locate the birds formerly at June Edwards to find out what had happened to them and there has been a huge cloak of secrecy around them). So basically, there has been cover up after cover up and Bobby Ticklyehas been let down by several rescues, many people and died at the hands of someone ill equipped and too pig headed to listen to good sound advice whilst Soft Landings cushioned her and shouted down anyone who tried to help Bobby Tickle. Soft Landings then went on to place 2 more former June Edwards residents ...... Tommy and Tilly, went, without home checking the perspective adopter. They were kicked and abused. Within a few months of Tommy and Tilly being with him, he posted that they had escaped and were lost. Most of us were sceptical about this claim, and it turned out we were right to be so. He had sold them. This is Bobby Tickle/Timmy/Cassi (this is one parrot). Sadly he died from self mutilating wounds, which is caused by abuse and mistreatment. RIP angel!
