Big news for #Gallaudet Bison Athletics this weekend! First, the Bison football team captured their 9th straight win and clinched their first-ever Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC) championship. The Bison defeated Anna Maria College, 35-7, before a crowd of 768 at Hotchkiss Field and increased its school-record win streak to 11 games dating back to last season. Gallaudet earns one of the 24 automatic qualifiers into the 2013 NCAA Division III football championship, which is made up of 32 teams and starts on Nov. 23. Gallaudets football team becomes the first mens team in school history to make a NCAA tournament. Tonight (Sunday) the CBS Evening News will run a story about the mighty Bison! Also, the #Gallaudet womens volleyball team claimed its fourth consecutive North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) title Sunday afternoon as the Bison swept the SUNYIT Wildcats in straight sets in the NEAC championship held at the Field House. The 25-11, 25-18, 25-8 victory gives Gallaudet (23-13) a berth in the 2013 NCAA Division III tournament as the NEAC champion receives an automatic bid. Tournament pairings and matchup locations will be revealed at 11 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 11, on the NCAAs online selection show that can be viewed at ncaa. The NCAA tournament regionals will be played Friday, Nov. 15, and Saturday, Nov. 16. Go Bison!!
