Big rains return to Jacksonville The first half of January - TopicsExpress

Big rains return to Jacksonville The first half of January started off wild and cooler than normal. The biggest winter weather news in the past five years happened on Jan. 8, when a trace of snow fell across town. Since then? Not much. Until today! Grab your umbrellas and keep them close as there will be three threats of rain the next 24 hours. The first will start Friday morning and last until about 1 p.m. Round two comes Friday evening and the final round on Saturday morning. While the heaviest rain will fall in south central Georgia, the Jacksonville metro area will see about 1 inch over the next day or so., The biggest threat will be from Friday morning’s rains — 9 a.m. until 1 p.m, — where heavy bands of rain will quickly move across I-75. These will fade as they reach Jacksonville, but will leave most of us wet and roads messy. Good time to download The Weather Authority app and follow the rains on our radar. Drive carefully and stay safe. Source: news4jax/ geogianews/big-rains-return-to-jacksonville/
