Big thank you to Craig Smee and his colleagues from RAF Wittering, Cambridgeshire – air traffic control (ATC), ground radio maintenance section (GRMS) and low flying operations who completed the PATHFINDERS endurance event raising a fantastic £705.65 to help the haematology day unit at James Cook. The march follows a circular route taking in the four main airbases – Wyton (HQ), Gravely, Oakhampton and Warboys bnd was created to honour the memory of the members of the Pathfinder Force which existed from August 1942 till 1945. Craig said: “I did the PATHFINDER march for the unit because of the great work they do with people who have cancer. My father was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma last year and was treated on the unit, and is now in remission. The unit was brilliant and I am very grateful for the support and helped they gave him throughout his treatment.”
