Big year of local achievements- It is the last Parliamentary sitting week of the year & I had a look back at what we have delivered: • Local Jobs coming back, with Labor’s Carbon Tax gone & over $2 billion of red tape cut -freeing up local business to employ + landmark free trade agreements giving local farmers & businesses a big boost • After 9 years of delay construction finally beginning on North Harbour- adding 20 000 jobs locally over the next 15 years. • Work beginning on the Dale Street flood levee, Burpengary – we put in $1.9 million • Design work has begun, construction starting early 2015 on our $16 million project to fix danger spots on the D’Aguilar Highway • $3 billion of work underway for upgrades of the Bruce Highway between Pine Rivers & the Sunshine Coast • Headspace facility announced for Caboolture • Work almost complete on the Dakabin Station car park- we contributed $300 000 • Work underway on our trial roll-out of NBN/FTTN locally for 36 000 premises (completed mid next year) • Delivering with local police $100,000 worth of local crime-busting CCTV cameras • Ensuring fair indexation for 1046 veteran superannuants • Hundreds of Listening Posts, the Longman Awards, the Longman Youth Leadership Forum
